PRESCHOOL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR  CHILDREN WITH AUTISM (AGES 3–5)

​Starting in September 2026, ABA Kids International will offer a small-group Preschool Development Program designed for children with autism aged 3–5 years.

​

The program is designed for children who benefit from a highly structured, supportive, and individualised learning environment. Within our small-group setting, children develop the communication, social, play, independence, and early learning skills that provide the foundation for successful participation in preschool and later school.

​

Our goal is to help every child build meaningful relationships, become increasingly independent in everyday routines, and develop the confidence and skills needed to participate successfully in group learning environments.

​

Rather than focusing solely on structured teaching sessions, learning opportunities are embedded throughout the day. Every routine, activity, and interaction is carefully planned to support each child's individual developmental goals, allowing newly acquired skills to become part of everyday life.

​The program focuses on supporting children's development across five key areas:

 

1. Communication and Language

​​​

Communication is at the heart of our program. We support each child in developing the most effective means of communication, enabling them to express their needs, thoughts, and emotions with increasing confidence and independence.

​

  • Functional communication skills

  • Receptive and expressive language development

  • Following instructions

  • Requesting, commenting, and conversational foundations

  • Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) support when appropriate

​

2. Social Development

​​​

Children gradually develop the skills needed to build meaningful relationships, cooperate with their peers, and actively participate in shared play and group activities.

​

  • Joint attention

  • Turn-taking

  • Sharing and cooperative play

  • Building relationships with peers and adults

  • Understanding emotions and social situations

​

3. Learning Readiness​

​​​

Throughout the program, children gradually acquire the skills needed to participate confidently and independently in everyday preschool routines while developing the foundations for future learning and school readiness.

  • Attending to adult-led activities

  • Group participation

  • Following classroom routines

  • Listening skills

  • Early problem-solving

  • Learning-to-learn behaviors​​​

4. Independence and Self-Help Skills​​

​​​

A key objective of our program is to support children in developing greater independence across a wide range of everyday activities and routines.

  • Toileting support

  • Dressing and personal care routines

  • Snack and mealtime independence

  • Transitions between activities

  • Following daily schedules

5. Play and Early Academic Foundations​

​

Children are introduced to early learning concepts through developmentally appropriate, play-based activities, including:

​

  • Early literacy experiences

  • Songs, stories, and shared reading

  • Pre-writing and fine motor activities

  • Number awareness and early mathematical concepts

  • Visual discrimination and matching skills

  • Creative and sensory play

Ideal for Children Who

  • ​Have an autism diagnosis or are awaiting assessment

  • Require additional support with communication and social development

  • Benefit from a structured and predictable learning environment

  • Need support developing independence and daily living skills

  • Would benefit from intensive early intervention within a small-group setting

Teaching Approach

The programme is delivered entirely in English and combines evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), naturalistic developmental interventions, play-based learning, speech and language support, sensory-informed practices, and individualized educational planning.

Children learn within a highly supportive environment with a low staff-to-child ratio, allowing teaching to be tailored to each child's individual strengths, interests, and developmental needs.

Additional Services

Where appropriate, children may also access:

  • Individual ABA therapy

  • Speech and language therapy

  • TSMT movement therapy

  • School readiness assessment and transition planning
